You can only remove the foil with tweezers or a needle; it's too thin to grab with your fingers. The grid with a measuring tape on the back helps to cut evenly. A 40x100 cm piece was enough for two table legs and there was still some left over; I think I'll use it to cover the scratching post. The cat was happy to get to the leftovers on the floor 🤭

The adhesive base is weak. It only sticks temporarily and comes off after a few hours. It doesn't stick well to the leather upholstery of the sofa. On a wooden surface, it's somewhat better.
