The material looks and smells like real leather, and the texture is similar. It has 2 compartments on each side and one in the middle, for a total of 5 spaces. However, keeping all of them occupied makes it tight and difficult to take out a card one at a time; I hope that over time it will loosen up and mold a bit. Overall, it's a good card holder, rigid and very compact. I might buy it again in another color.
